Emu Eggshells are unique. They have layers of color to them unlike other eggs. The outer color ranges from dark emerald green to almost black. The next layer is what we call the "Teal" layer, but it can range in color also, sometimes being almost blue. The final layer is white, and that's where the skill in carving really gets tested. It's a very thin layer and must be worked on with a steady hand and a very light touch.
